New Factory For Honda Brio

Related plans to bring Honda Brio in Indonesia, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) began the first steps toward building a new factory covering an area of ​​95,000 m2 in Karawang, West Java. Honda's second plant was built with an investment of Rp 3.1 trillion, with production capacity of 120,000 thousand units. Expected to be completed in 2014, the new plant will produce economy cars than Honda Brio, will also assemble other Honda models such as the new MPV type. Labor to be absorbed is estimated up to 5,000 people.

"Indonesia is an important market for Honda. With market growth and positive conditions for economic growth, Indonesia has a huge potential market for the automotive industry. New plant will produce Honda Brio and a new Honda MPV models at affordable prices," said Takanobu Ito, CEO of Honda Motor Co.., Japan.

Meanwhile, Tomoki Uchida, President of HPM, said Honda's second plant built to meet customer demand for Honda products continues to increase. "If it had been operating, Honda's production capacity of the two plants will increase to 180,000 units per year. We will also aim to increase sales to 210,000 units in 2015," said Uchida.

To compensate for the increased production capacity and consumer demand, Honda also intends to expand dealer network in Indonesia. Currently, Honda strengthened 88 dealers spread across various cities in Indonesia and it will open as many as 62 new Honda dealer. So at the end of 2014, Honda will have a total of 150 dealers.

For information, the first Honda plant located in the Industrial Area Karachi Partners (KIM), Parungmulya village, West Java, with a land area of ​​512,500 m2 and a building area of ​​97,575 m2. This factory has been producing a variety of models such as the Honda Jazz, CR-V and Freed.
