In May 2013 Honda sport bike sales jumped 168 peersen compared with the same month in the previous year. Honda and the Honda CBR150R StreetFire Verza 150, the biggest growth spurt this.
Deputy General Manager of Sales Division of PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) Thomas Wijaya revealed remarkable sales growth of motor sport type of Honda driven by a surge in high demand for the two models of Honda sport bike, the Honda CBR150R and Honda Verza 150 StreetFire.
"Nationally, sales of motorcycles may indeed not very encouraging due to the effects of policies to increase the DP and DP Sharia which still continues. But we are grateful to customers who have chosen our products so that motor sport has recorded fantastic growth in the last month, "he said, Astra-Honda released.
Sales of Honda sport bike alone at last month reached 31,546 units, while in the same month of 2012 was only 11 759 units. Positive reception from the public is also encouraged that the jump in market share at the Honda sport bike segment nationwide. In May last year, Honda's market share in the segment of motor sport only 18.1 percent nationally, then in May of this year, its market share jumped to 35 percent.
