Honda Jazz Hybrid officially unveiled assemblies Malaysia
At a time when Indonesia was still busy struggling with the regulations about electric powered cars, Malaysia has been assembling hybrid cars. One of them is the Honda Jazz Hybrid, which was launched in March, is now assembled at Honda's plant in Alor Gajah Malaysia.
The launch of the model was conducted on Friday (23/11), which was attended by Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir.
Jazz hybrid designs are assembled in Malaysia having some differences, such as the layout of some buttons moved to adjust driving style right wheel. Turn signal lever has been moved to the right, and the Multi-Information Display (MID) that is shifted near the cruise control.
CKD version uses drum brakes in the rear and dual airbags for safety features. This means there is a reduction in the specifications, in which devices are disc brakes CBU version on all four wheels and six airbags. There are additional gear mode 'L' on the gear lever, and alteration of the information pointing fuel before 1-0 becomes FE.
Another difference was the turning radius, 5.39 meter to 5.41 meter version in CKD and CBU. With the various components of the reduction, the overall weight of 1,666 kg dropped 7 kg in CBU version.
Specification is derived, which aims to popularize hybrid technology in Malaysia. CEO of Honda Malaysia, Yoiciro Ueno, confirmed that the local components contained in this CKD version reached 10 percent, and will increase gradually in the future.
"I am proud to say that 69 percent of the circulation of hybrid cars in Malaysia are owned by Honda. We target local assemblies Jazz Hybrid is sold 4800 units in 2013," said Ueno.
Price Jazz hybrid set at RM 89,900, equivalent to Rp. 283 million on the road plus insurance. Tag of CKD (Completely-Knocked Down) is cheaper RM 4900 (U.S. $ 15.4 million) when compared to the version CBU (Completely Built Up)
